The Locket
written by: Buruma Tamashiino

This is a poem that I wrote back in the 10th grade. I thought it sucked at the time but it ranked among the Top 10 of the class... so it must not be that bad, right? ::shrug:: You decide.

In the enchanting moonlight
They share their last dance
In this dreamlike state
The locket plays again

A symbol of their love
A unique and beautiful melody
If only they had known
Of the approaching tyranny

With a sudden flash
Of the brightest light
The evil has arrived
There will be death tonight

All physical bonds now broken
But still they reach, in vain

Higher and higher
Into the sky
Farther and farther away

This may be have been
Their last dance
Together, upon the moon

Their memories have gone
But if their love was true
The locket will unite them again, someday
To a love lost on the moon
