"Chijou no Seiza" (Yoko Ueno)

Anata wa kitto watashi no yuuki
Anata wa kitto watashi no hikaru

     Surely you are my courage
     Surely you are my light

Kurayami no nakate mitsuketa akari wa
Watashi wo mitsumeru yasashi hikari
Nakitai hodo nai toshi sa ni
Umareta ii wo sotto kanjite ta

Within the darkness I found a light...
...and gazed at its gentle brilliance
I wanted to cry but my ambitious spirit wouldn't allow it
I had felt this presence once before when I was born

Hanarete itemo hikisa kanete mo
Anata-e kokoro habataiteku

But it soon seperated from me, tearing itself away
     Soaring straight to your heart

Anata wa kitto watashi no tsubasa
Anata no ai wa chijyou no seiza

     Surely you are my wings
Your love is a constellation above the Earth
